Not the coolest video in the world, but the song and DOF make up for it :)
I took the new 5D Mark II out for a stroll through my backyard and a nature park next door to test out the video. All manual focus but still rad.
Click on the video and “HD is off” to go to vimeo and see it in HD.
I took the new camera out for a little test run on Monday to see how the HD video turns out. The quality is amazing and is basically giving me 30, 2 megapixel files every second. Rad stuff. Here are two screen shots I made while editing some of the video. The only thing done in photoshop was adding the watermark. The rest was done in Final Cut Pro.

It is no secret that I have been absolutely coveting the new Canon 5D Mark II since September. I have spent countless hours reading about it, watching the videos, and drooling over the images and now mine is finally here! They are still sold out all over the internet but I just scored one today.
You’re most likely asking, “why should I care?” and I have some great reasons :)
21.1 megapixels means HUGE resolution. Photos blown up larger will have much more detail and look a lot more crisp.
1080p High Definition video at 30 frames per second. I know to most people that phrase may as well have been in latin because you have no clue what that means, but I have a deep background in video and will be able to make not only incredible still images but videos that rival $10,000+ cameras. For a wedding client this could be a great way to get a highlight video without having to spend a few more thousand on a videographer!
Our second camera has now been upgraded from an 8 megapixel 30D to the legendary full-framed 12.9 megapixel 5D. The images from the 5D’s just have a certain feel to them that I can’t put my finger on but its there. These camera’s are magical.
