It is totally that time of year. People are getting engaged left and right and are beginning to plan for their big day! The venues, the dresses, the hair stylists, the make up artists, the decorations, the invitations, the photographers, the cinematographers, the caterers, the florists, the DJs, the officiants, the programs, the wedding party, SO MUCH TO THINK ABOUT!
Luckily for me, Maddie is fantastic and and incredibly organized in planning our own wedding.
Another photographer friend of mine suggested that I start blogging about our wedding planning as it progresses so here is installment number one!
Honeymoon: Paris, France
I was so blessed by my parents early on in our engagement when they found some incredible tickets for a really low amount of airmiles! Maddie and I went in 2007 with a missions group and are STOKED to go back to France again!

Wedding Dress: Elegant Bride – Tacoma, WA
Maddie searched all over and found the dress of her dreams at Elegant Bride in Tacoma. I have no clue what it looks like of course, but Maddie is always pretty stylish, I’m pumped. The owners were very nice and even offered to do a little business partnership with me! Check them out if you’re in need of a dress. The owners were telling us about their stock and how they ship dresses all over the country!

Photographer: Jay Eads – Eugene, OR
Jay is an incredible photographer I met on flickr.com. I feel we have somewhat similar styles {although I think he shoots portraits like a champion!} and he agreed to come up from Oregon to shoot our wedding! He really is a great guy and I a big reason we chose him was not only because of his skills with a camera, but because we knew he’d be someone who we’d feel really comfortable around and would make our day fun and not stressful. What a HUGE thing to have in a photographer!

Venue: First Congregational Church – Tacoma, WA
When Maddie and I began to look for churches, we really wanted something that was going to give our photos a lot of class and have a vintage feel to it. We searched around and went with First Congregational Church. My friends Matt and Stacy were married there a few years ago and I loved the look of their photos. Since we’re also going to Paris for our honeymoon, Maddie and I decided a very traditional venue would make for an awesome feel for our wedding.
I’ll leave you with the cutest thing I saw in our wedding planner. I honestly couldn’t be happier about getting married!
