Three years ago, my summer was terrible. I shot 25+ weddings, 20+ portrait sessions, and 40+ senior sessions. Although my bank account was loving me, I was getting really drained. I only took 1 day off in July and 1 day off in August, making me a bit miserable. I felt like I was wasting away my summer and not being able to enjoy things like BBQ’s with friends, time with my wife, days at the lake, etc. I vowed never to let myself do that again. By the end of August, I knew I needed desperately to work on continuing to provide my clients with excellent work, but knew that spending almost 2 full days just processing a wedding was killing me. Work smarter, not harder. I spent the rest of that wedding season to figure out EXACTLY how my shooting affected my processing and how to give my clients great consistent images without having to spend days at a time in front of my computer screen. Since then, my images/processing have improved and my time in front of the computer has gone from 16-20+ hours per wedding to 4-6 hours.

Sessions will take place at my studio in Tacoma, WA and includes:
// a quick mini shoot // of yourself by me to see how it feels to be behind the camera [plus we all like good photos of ourselves, right?]
// a shoot // I’d shoot the first 1/2 and explain a bit of what I’m doing and why. Then you can go for it, try some tips and tricks out for yourself.
// post processing // from culling to LR to PS.
I don’t claim to be the expert or think that the way I shoot or process is *the* way to do it, but I’m hoping you can find ways to implement these ideas into their own practice to both improve the quality of their work, and to allow them to spend more time away from their computers doing what you love. All questions welcome. No topics off limits.
Cost: $1500
