Sometimes there is nothing more beneficial than receiving an outside opinion on your work and business.
This has been beneficial for photographers in all stages of their business. From beginners wanting to solidify some things before photographing their first wedding to seasoned professionals, a good mentor session can be amazing for anyone looking for help as a wedding photographer.
I like to think of these mentorships as an extension of Cascade Workshop. I spend as much individual time with attendees as possible, but it's almost impossible to critique every portfolio, address every marketing question, and advise each individual situation in a group setting [although I try my best!]. I found these have been really beneficial for students as a follow up to a workshop or simply as a standalone time to address specific needs.
While nothing is off the table, the following areas are where I feel I have the most to offer: website/portfolio critiques, composition/framing, social media, marketing, pricing, post-processing, workflow, presenting your narrative, finding your "why", and creating longevity in your business.
The more prepared you are, the better. Having a set list of topics/questions ready really helps to maximize the time we're given. When you inquire, please send me information about what you're trying to work through as well so I can be prepared as well.
Nope! Although I have multiple topics that I have full classes on that we can go through, most people come in with a notebook full of questions and go from there.
To book a session, pay through the site and then schedule a time. Typically these take place between 10am and 4pm Pacific Time on Monday-Thursdays. Payments are non-refundable.
The base rate includes up to 2 hours. Additional hours can be added for a reduced rate of $200.
As much information as you'd like to cover! These are usually run like an extended personal question & answer session, so bring a laptop, notes, or even a camera. While we won't be photographing a couple, I can definitely help with photography concepts and tricks if you have questions about anything I do.

I'll most likely be in my home office in Tacoma, WA and will be available from 10am-4pm Pacific Time. You can find what those times will be relative to your own here. ->Time & Date<-
The mini-workshop is basically a 1/2 day version of my 2-day workshops. The overall timeframe is around 4 hours.
With the mini-workshop, you can choose any number of topics to discuss or learn about. We'll set up a shoot to go over client interaction, composition/framing, and post-processing afterward [if desired]. I'll also shoot some new headshots for you before the shoot.

The mini-workshop will typically take place at my home office in Tacoma, WA. I do travel often though, so if I'll already be in your area for another commission, we might be able to make it happen. I'll just need your help sourcing locations, models, etc.
As a wedding photographer for over a decade, I spent the first 5 years with my head down learning like crazy and focusing solely on growing as a photographer myself. I was extremely hesitant to offer any paid advice to others and spent an entire year making sure I noted common questions and had definitive answers for those.
Over the next few years, I met with 30+ photographers at my studio and took notes of their questions and needs before launching Cascade Workshop in 2016.
Now I’m excited to give that individual attention in mentor sessions again. Feel free to send me a request and I’ll let you know if one of my mentor sessions would be beneficial for you.
