Back in June I shot a wedding down in Oregon with my friend, Jay Eads.
Neither of us are primarily film photographers, but Jay’s clients specifically requested that we shoot it.
Sounds like a deal to me.
Shot on film. Hasselblad 500c/m, Mamiya RZ67, Canon EOS3 with Kodak Portra 400, Fuji 400H, and Ilford Delta 400 and HP5.
I tossed a couple of digital images in the mix as well.
To see more from this wedding, check out Jay’s post.
Beautiful work. I love the first frame with the dead tree behind…

Each one of these shots oozes romance. Well done in capturing such stunning images.

so dang good man!
Truly inspiring set of images! Your work is mind blowing! ; )
I love this whole set – especially the portraits and the first shot of them standing with the officiant … and the food, of course. :)
These are sooooo good.
Just found you work and it’s blowing me away. I love the interaction between the couple and you capture it so perfectly.
WOW! use film more often ;)
For someone who doesn’t shoot film regularly you didn’t have any problems picking up the medium.
No matter how the pictures are made nothing beats great content and your work at this wedding has that in spades!
This is gorgeous work – really love the feel of this :)
Soooo… I think you need to be shooting film more often. =)
Love the colors and mood of this shoot. great work!

Film or not Ben, you know how to take pictures Boy.
Congratulations Russell and Jenelle
Wow, gorgeous film work Benj! Love the portraits on the beach – the light is just perfect.
Seriously, this is so gorgeous. The shots on the beach with their heads touching are perfect. It looks like an amazing day.
Beautiful!!!! Especially those shots on the beach.
Each frame is mesmerizing. Really blown away with this post.
These are stunning. I especially love the shots of the bride through the window.
So so beautiful, and I love how Oregon it looks, rain and mist and everything. Great job!
Ben, I actually started to browse the images, and then found myself having to make notes to remind myself of all my thoughts zooming around my head as I looked through this beautiful wedding – all those happy beautiful moments. I love the shot of the bride looking out the window with the beautiful subtle reflections, and the ripples of movement in the pond – I loved them all – and those beach shots – wow ! Stunning work x
These are so very different from what I’m use to seeing from you, but they are so so beautiful. Great job, Benji! :)
Wonderful series of photos! Great emotional stuff, whether you shot it on film or digital is kinda beside the point. I do love, love, love the film look though.
I love your work, beautiful!! Congrats
I can’t even talk about this post, okay!? I seriously can’t. IT IS SERIOUSLY SO FLIPPING GOOD.
as always, very very awesome.
Great work! Love the texture and consistency from film.
speechless. each and every frame.
you need to shoot more film, brother.
Beautiful! So awesome that you got that opportunity to shoot a film welding, absolutely love how they turned out. I’m tired of looking at “alien” eyes and over photoshopped pics that is happening in parts of the photography world. So so refreshing to see your work!
You guys are two of my favorites. What a gorgeous wedding. And gorgeous photos, as always!
Stunning.
